E Hartsdale Ave residents can park in parking garage tonight
Release Date: August 27, 2011

I have conferred with the Police Chief and will be declaring a State of Emergency tonight after 9 PM. Residents of East Hartsdale Ave can park in the parking garage overnight at their own risk. The first floor of the garage has, in the past, experienced flooding. In addition, some trees that have fallen on the roof in years past.

However, the upper floors in the parking garage have not had problems in the past and some apartment dwellers have asked permission to move their cars to the garage. We hope this is helpful. Special thanks to the Parking Authority for their cooperation.

The Police Chief recommends that motorists stay home and limit driving to emergencies once the storm begins. Trees could fall, debris could fly and pedestrians/motorists could be hit.

PAUL FEINER
