SAVE $700 ANNUALLY AND GET FREE CFL LIGHT BULBS TUESDAY EVENING
Release Date: November 13, 2011

YOU CAN SAVE $700 ANNUALLY BY ATTENDING A MEETING TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH FROM 7 PM TO 8:30 PM AT GREENBURGH TOWN HALL.

...AND RECEIVE 4 FREE CFL LIGHT BULBS THAT WILL SAVE YOU $250 OVER LIFE OF BULBS!

If you own your home, you’re probably losing an average of $700 in wasted energy annually.  This affects your wallet and your comfort.   It also affects our environment and increases our dependence on foreign resources.

The Town of Greenburgh is committed to increasing the efficiency of its own operations and we want to give homeowners the tools they need to become more energy efficient too.  Therefore, the Town is hosting Renew Greenburgh on Tuesday, November 15th at the Greenburgh Town Hall from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. This free workshop will explore energy-saving upgrades for single and multi-family homes.

You might think that energy efficiency is complicated. It’s not. It’s simply doing more with the same or less energy. To get you started, each Greenburgh family attending the event will receive 4 free CFLs—estimated to save over $250 over the life of the bulbs.

We’ll also help you access rebates and incentives available from ConEd and New York State for other upgrades.  For example, through a New York State program, most homeowners can receive a free comprehensive home energy assessment. Using this data, and a range of super low-interest loans, cashback incentives and other financing, you’ll be able create an improvement plan that is right for you.  Some residents are even eligible for an enhanced program that pays for up to half the cost of improvements. You’ll also hear from Greenburgh residents who have used these programs – including the president of Greenburgh co-op board who helped spearhead improvements that led to $200,000 in annual energy savings for his complex (for more information: http://renewgreenburgh.org/featured-Hartsdale.html ).

I urge you to share our community’s commitment to becoming more energy efficient. It will save you money and improve the comfort and safety of your home. There are steps appropriate for every budget and every circumstance, so please join me in learning about them – and taking action - on November 15th.

To pre-register for the event and to reserve the CFL bulbs, go to www.RenewGreenburgh.org or call (866) 495-2959. For assistance applying for the energy assessment, please bring your ConEd account number. Paul Feiner, Greenburgh Town Supervisor
