Meeting Wednesday evening, January 25 at 7:30 PM to discuss flood relief initiatives..
Release Date: January 17, 2012

MEETING ON FLOOD RELIEF WEDNESDAY EVENING JANUARY 25 AT 7:30 pm

You are invited to attend a Town Board meeting on Wednesday evening, January 25th at 7:30 PM. At this meeting Jonathan Raser, our hazardous mitigation consultant will make a short presentation on initiatives the town could take to assist residents and businesses who have experienced significant flooding over the past number of storms.
Because there are other topics that will be discussed at this meeting --I have asked Mr. Raser to make his formal presentation to the Town Board relatively short--between 15 minutes and a half hour. After the presentation is made MR. Raser will invite residents who have specific concerns to meet in the Lee Jackson room at Town Hall.
I am forwarding a copy of a letter I received from Mr. Raser last week.

Subject: Mitigation Grant Support Project

Paul –

I met with Victor Carosi today to discuss potential mitigation projects and properties to consider for mitigation grant funding. Letters of Intent to NYSOEM for municipal project grants are due at the end of the month, and I will continue to work with Victor on those. We are currently looking at a solution to address flooding at the community center.

He also identified several private properties that we need to focus on for potential grant funding for acquisition or elevations, including:

· Babbitt Court – Cerone, acquisition

· 123 Florence – good elevation candidate

· Old Kensico Road – acquisition

· 16 Hunter Lane, Elmsford - acquisition

I believe our intent was to do some general public outreach, particulary to floodprone residents and business, to explain the mitigation grant programs and canvass for interest. Could you contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss how best to accomplish this outreach? Thank you.

Jonathan Raser, CFM | Hazard Mitigation Program Manager
