MONDAY, APRIL 9TH is a public works holiday. Sanitation services this week will be on the holiday schedule. It's my hope that when a future contract with the Teamsters is negotiated that we could offer sanitation crew members a floating holiday - on a date of each sanitation members choice: anniversary, child's birthday, etc. If this would be agreed to- the town would provide service one extra day a year (we would eliminate Easter Monday as a holiday) and crew members would still keep the same number of holidays they are entitled to. We negotiated a similar agreement re: other holidays over the years.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR CALENDARS CAREFULLY. MONDAY'S GARBAGE WILL BE PICKED UP ON TUESDAY, TUESDAY'S GARBAGE WILL BE PICKED UP ON WEDNESDAY, PAPERS ON THURSDAY AND COMMINGLES ON FRIDAY.
