Release Date: May 02, 2013

MEET ANOTHER NEW  GREENBURGH BUSINESS— one of the most popular destination points for smaller children
Alisa Herschaft and her husband are residents of Greenburgh. They recently opened a business in Elmsford called BOUNCE U.  This new business is quickly becoming one of the most popular destination points for young children. They have 14,000 square feet of space, 2 huge stadiums filled with giant inflatables. It’s primarily a children’s birthday party place. They are partnering with the Make a Wish Foundation during the month of May and donating proceeds from all their bounces to the Make a Wish charity.
Make-A-Wish Wednesdays will take place in May, whereby a portion of all proceeds collected from Open Bounce sessions will be donated to Make A Wish. BounceU will also be selling "wish Candles" to anyone who wants to help further by buying a "wish." 100% of these proceeds will be donated to Make A Wish.
The fundraising effort comes to a crescendo on May 22nd when there will be a major Fundraising BIG BOUNCE. The BIG BOUNCE will cost a donation of $8 per child and include access to all the exciting Giant Inflatables, as well as pizza and drinks for the kids. In addition to "bouncing" the event will feature Give-a-ways for all attending kids, face painting, clowns and much more! 100% of all proceeds from the BIG BOUNCE will be donated to Make A Wish.
Please contact each store directly as reservations are required and space is limited. The Start time of the BIG BOUNCE at THE Paramus, NJ. and Elmsford, NY locations may vary. To reserve, please contact your local BounceU store directly;

Yonkers, Greenburgh revamping sidewalks on Central Avenue to help shoppers, disabled

Yonkers and Greenburgh shoppers are getting $2.2 million in wider, nicer new sidewalks on Central Avenue with ramp access that will conform to the standards of the federal American Disabilities Act, state officials said.
Work began last week along the busy retailer-packed thoroughfare, which is also known as Route 100, and will continue through the year along five sections of this north-south highway as it passes through Yonkers and travels north through several communities.
The renovations will probably be done by December 2013 or January 2014, said state Department of Transportation spokesman Beau Duffy.
"We do projects like this across the state," he said. "The goal is to make the sidewalks safe and accessible for everyone."
The project is long overdue and will have a positive economic impact, said Paul Feiner, the supervisor for Greenburgh, which is the town that encompasses many of the communities slated for the sidewalk improvements.
"People have been asking about this for years," Feiner said. "I think it's fantastic because it will make Central Avenue more pedestrian-friendly. This will be really, really positive."
Two sections of Route 100 will get new sidewalks in Yonkers. The stretches run from Midland Avenue to the Sprain Brook Parkway ramps on both sides of the road, and Bacon Place to Fountain Lane on the left side of the road.
Going north on Central Avenue, new sidewalks are due for the 600-foot portion south of Ardsley Road and running up to the right side of Ardsley Road in Scarsdale; the right side of the Route 100 from Dromore Road in Scarsdale to Marion Avenue in Hartsdale; and both sides of East Hartsdale Avenue to Jane Street in Hartsdale.
About 20 percent of all Americans have a disability, with the percentage increasing, according to federal statistics. Plus, by 2030, one in five Americans will be 65 or older.
