Do you know anyone who needs a heart, kidney, liver, lung or pancreas transplant?  If the answer is yes – read on.  There’s an organization called the Transplant Support Organization that helps to save lives by providing education relating to organ donation and transplants. They promote organ and tissue donations and give support  AND ENCOURAGEMENT to transplant candidates, recipients, their families and donor families.

Tomorrow I will be interviewing  on my WVOX radio program Ira Cooperman, Leonard Andrew, Howard Romanoff and Ted Lawson—all members of the Transplant Support Group. The program airs from 10 AM to 11 AM on 1460 AM or www.wvox.com. If you have any questions about heart, liver, kidney or other kinds of transplants feel free to call in during the program: 914 636 0110).

The next meeting: February 17, 2016 meeting at the Greenburgh Health Center. Speakers will be Bill Becker and Gerard Marinaccio who will share their transplant journeys.  Come meet Executive Director Judith Watson, share a cup of coffee, a few announcements, our wonderful TSO member speakers.  Drive around back, park, and enter through the Community Room door.

The Transplant Support Group will hold their next meeting on Wednesday evening, February 17th  at 7:00 PM
Greenburgh Health Center
295 Knollwood Rd, White Plains, NY 10607

I first learned about this organization when I met  David Verge a few years ago. He's a member of the Transplant Support Group and a member of our  new Health Care Advisory Committee.  He was waiting for a heart transplant--and had a portable heart attached to outside his body.  It was raining outside when I first met him and he was worried about the risks of going outside with a portable heart when it was raining!  He resides in Hartsdale and looks 100 years younger today than he looked when he was waiting for the transplant.
