Greenburgh joins Irvington community in mourning loss of 17 year old Tyler Rosenberg

The Town of Greenburgh joins the Irvington community in mourning the loss of 17 year old Tyler Rosenberg who passed away as a result of  a tragic accident yesterday in Vermont. Tyler was very well liked. Our condolences to his family and many friends.

Dear Irvington Community Members,

 

It is with a heavy heart that I write to share the upsetting news of the tragic loss of a valued member of our student body, rising Irvington High School senior, Tyler Rosenberg.  We are heartbroken by this news, and the entire school community extends its heartfelt sympathy to Tyler's family and friends.   

 

Tyler will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His passion and wonderful spirit were enjoyed by all in our community.  Tyler's talents were felt in the classroom, as well as on the baseball field, and his sense of humor warmed the hearts of so many.  

 

The Irvington School District values each of our students as cherished members of our school family and recognizes them for the special gifts they possess. The District encourages parents to speak with their children, when appropriate, about this news. Resources to support you in these discussions have been posted to the district website. Any parent who has additional questions or concerns can contact the main office at their child's school for assistance.  

 

We recognize that a sudden loss like this can have a profound effect on the entire school community, and our district will provide counseling services for any students, staff and community members on an ongoing basis. Our counselors will be available at the MS/HS Campus at the following times:

12:00 pm-3:00 pm

Saturday, August 27th

12:00 pm-3:00 pm

Monday, August 29th

9:00 am-12:00 pm

In Irvington, our strength is in our community.  We will come together as a family to offer support through this difficult time.
