GREENBURGH ONE OF THREE COMMUNITIES IN NEW YORK STATE TO RECEIVE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF NEW YORKS HIGHEST AWARD—PLATINUM AWARD FOR OUR COMMUNITY TRAFFIC SAFETY  PROGRAMS

We just got some good news from the AAA. Greenburgh is one of three communities in NYS to receive the AAA’s highest award “Community Traffic Safety Award.”  The award will be presented in October to us. Our commitment to building sidewalks, our digital speed boards, our enforcement efforts and a new initiative we are starting: promoting motorcycle safety contributed to this award.

WE REDUCED SPEED LIMITS ON SEELY , ROBIN HILL AND MOUNT JOY TO 25 MPH..Traffic parking restrictions on LINCOLN PLACE BETWEEN COUNTY CENTER ROAD AND SOUTH ROAD ENACTED

At our last Town Board meeting we voted to reduce the speed limits on Henry Street, Robin Hill Road and Mount Joy   to 25 MPH.    We also adopted the recommendation of the Greenburgh Police to add parking restrictions on Lincoln Place between the intersections of County Center Road and South Road. We found that vehicles parked

near the these intersections makes it difficult to turn due to reduced sight distance.

TOWN BOARD AWARDS BID FOR SEELY PLACE SIDEWALK TO PETER LANDI

The Town Board awarded the Seely place sidewalk construction job to Peter Landi for an amount not to exceed $146,141 at our last Town Board meeting. Work is expected to start in October and should take about six weeks. The Commissioner of Public Works and I met with some residents of Seely Place last week to discuss the work.

The police department and Town Board are always trying to make Greenburgh a safer place for motorists, pedestrians and children. If you have any suggestions please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. I will ask the police department to review your recommendations. Over the years many changes have been made as a result of feedback from our residents.

PAUL FEINER
