TOWN BOARD APPROVES PARKING ON E HARTSDALE DURING WINTER MONTHS, WITH EXCEPTION OF SNOW EMERGENCIES
Release Date: November 29, 2016

EAST HARTSDALE AVE –PARKING NOW ALLOWED FROM DECEMBER 1 TO MARCH 15 UNLESS IT SNOWS
The Greenburgh Town Board voted to amend the law (1) to prohibit parking on East Hartsdale Avenue and the metered parking spaces on Columbia Avenue from December 1 to March 15 between the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m only when a snow emergency is declared, and (2) to provide for the towing of vehicles parked on East Hartsdale Avenue and the metered parking spaces on Columbia Avenue during a Snow Emergency. Prior to the enactment of the law cars could not park on those streets during the entire winter – snow or no snow.  Residents of East Hartsdale have been complaining to town officials about the lack of parking on E Hartsdale Ave –and the impact the parking shortages have on quality of life for residents. It’s the hope of the Town Board that the new law will help residents during the winter months, when there it is not snowing.. We will use digital speed board, the e list and other forms of communication to highlight when cars must not be parked on the street (when snow storms are anticipated).
