THANK YOU WESTCHESTER MILK (COMPANY OWNED BY GREENBURGH RESIDENTS) FOR DONATING FOOD TO DOBBS FERRY FOOD PANTRY

A few weeks ago I attended a block party in Greenburgh and met Matt Marone who owns a company - Westchester Milk which is based in Greenburgh. His company frequently has foods that are about to expire (but have not yet expired)--milk products, juices, etc... We chatted about Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry and some positive Matt offered to drop off food at the pantry. We are very grateful!  Since our meeting Matt and Westchester Milk (which is located in Greenburgh) has been dropping off food to the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry.  THANK YOU!

SIDEWALK UPDATES --NEW SIDEWALK ON SECOR

Later this week, construction crews will begin work on a new sidewalk along Secor Road extending approximately 1,200 linear feet from the intersection of Secor Road and Saw Mill River Road (Rt. 9A), connecting into the entrance of the Secor Road apartments. The sidewalk will be built on the south side of Secor Road and will replace an existing asphalt pathway. The sidewalk will also extend approximately 200 north on Saw Mill River Road and connect to an existing Bee Line bus stop. The sidewalks are funded by a Community Development Block Grant which the Town received in 2016. Construction is anticipated to take 3 weeks.  This week we're also starting construction on Benedict Ave sidewalks (which I highlighted a few days ago).

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO COLUMBIA AVE SIDEWALK?

Earlier this year the Town Board authorized the construction of a sidewalk on Columbia Ave (near E Hartsdale Ave). We just received the final survey last week. Next: estimates and design work.  We then have to go to bid. The sidewalk should be constructed in 2018.  People  think that building a sidewalk is easy. It isn't. We have to reach out to utility companies to remove poles. There are engineering challenges.  It could easily take over a year or two before a sidewalk is built from the day it is authorized.
