Watch for black ice...sanitation will pick up garbage -but later...profile Isabella Spar
Release Date: January 17, 2018

We expect a quick blast of snow the next two hours and will work hard to keep the roads safe. Be careful. Lots of black ice. Sanitation will be going out later than usual--starting around 10 when the roads will be safer. Our highway crews are busy trying to keep our roads safe.  Remember my comments about black ice from previous posts---hospitals are busy dealing with falls when there is black ice on the roads. Many serious head injuries and deaths. SO BE CAREFUL WHEN WALKING.

Isabella Spar is an inspiration. She started a project called “Project Bell” when she was just 12 years old, where she makes and sells jewelry with inspirational charms (bangle bracelets, leather bracelets, and chokers) and then uses 100% of the net profits to donate large bells/plaques to radiation centers throughout the country so patients can ring these "New Beginning Bells" after they complete their course of radiation. So far she has raised over $6,000 and has already donated 8 bells/plaques throughout the country, with an additional 7 more New Beginning Bells going to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC and its satellites this winter.

Isabella, a student at Ardsley Middle School, has been profiled in Mitzvah magazine, in the Enterprise and in other publications for the work she has done.. https://www.mitzvahmarket.com/projects/mitzvah-market-magazine-project-bell/ .

Her  project has been so well received and inspirational and is a very positive thing for the community. The Greenburgh Town Board will honor Isabella Spar at our meeting on Wednesday evening, January 24 at 7:30 PM, Greenburgh Town hall. Sharing the above information could introduce more people to her project and   encourage more people to buy her jewelry or donate to “Project Bell” so she could donate more bells to radiation centers without them.

By going to her website, www.projectbell.org, people can learn more about her project, see other news coverage links, purchase jewelry, or donate to her cause so she can donate more bells to radiation centers without them. All jewelry costs only $18, so it’s a terrific little gift that has a huge meaning and impact.
