Bobby Lance, one of the most popular teachers at the R.J. Bailey School, (Greenburgh Central School district) will be retiring from teaching at the end of the school year. Bobby wrote Aretha Franklin's hit song "The House that Jack Built". After Bobby steps down from teaching, he will continue to compose and perform. His son, Mitch Lance, who graduated from Woodlands High School, is also a terrific artist and composer. I invited his son to be a guest on my WVOX radio show. We talk about Mitch’s music, his experiences at Berklee College of Music, one of his viral music videos, and the music business. And we also talked about his father. Here is a link to the interview and some of his music. I also posted (at the bottom of the page) a link to the Bobby Lance's song "The House that Jack Built"--one of Aretha's greatest hits.
In the coming months I would like to highlight graduates of our schools who have accomplished a lot and some outstanding teachers who have made an enormous difference in students lives. Please e mail me recommendations. PAUL FEINER
