The Greenburgh Town Board will be voting on a resolution to rename WebbParkas RichardPresserParkand to name the open field in the park Webb Field. This is a fitting memorial and honor. Richard Presser was instrumental in pushing the town to purchase the 7 acre parcel of land located off of North Central Ave. He also was the leading proponent of the successful effort that resulted in the town acquiring 123 acres of Gaisman, now known as Hart’s Brook Park & Preserve. He was active in the effort that resulted in the town having the first town-wide open space referendum in the region in 1997 – an effort that prompted the acquisition of over 400 acres of parkland in the town. Richard passed away over a year ago. Without his leadership Greenburgh would not be able to call itself “green”burgh.

I have received a number of complaints from Edgemont residents about the construction of an office building on PophamRoadleading to the Scarsdaletrain station.  A massive block of concrete that has been lain askew and blocks the north sidewalk on the street forcing Edgemont bound pedestrians to step over it and walk into the lane of traffic every night is not safe or efficient in terms of traffic flow.
