THIS MESSAGE APPLIES TO PEOPLE WHO PARK ON EAST HARTSDALE AVENUE ONLY! The National Weather Service is predicting a significant snow event for Thursday, December 13 beginning after noon. Accumulations of 3 to 7 inches of snow are possible. Under newly adopted parking rules affecting EAST HARTSDALE AVENUE ONLY, PARKING IS NOT PERMITTED ON EAST HARTSDALE AVENUE DURING THE PERIOD A SNOW EMERGENCY IS DECLARED. Should this forecast not change, a Snow Emergency is expected to be declared sometime tomorrow. Vehicles parked on East Hartsdale Avenue during the period a Snow Emergency is declared will be ticketed and towed. Under the new law, the fine for parking on East Hartsdale Avenue during the period of a declared Snow Emergency is $150. Tow charges are additional. The fine for a second offense occurring within 120 days is $200. Fines for parking without a permit in the Hartsdale Parking District sites during a declared Snow Emergency have been increased to $130 as well. If you normally park on East Hartsdale Avenue, you are encouraged to tune to WFAS Radio at 103.9 or 106.3 FM or 1230 AM during the day tomorrow to learn if a Snow Emergency has been declared and if this occurs, when it is rescinded. You may also call the Snow Emergency Hotline at 682-5387 to obtain this information. Another storm is also being tracked that may effect the town beginning Saturday night into Sunday, therefore, it is important that you check during this period as well to see if a Snow Emergency has been declared.
