Greenburgh Town Board 8/18/2008 Meeting Resolutions Posted / Meeting Venue Details
Release Date: August 15, 2008

This afternoon the text of both resolutions that appear on the agenda for this Monday’s (8/18/2008, 7:15 PM) Town Board Special Meeting were posted on the Town’s Web site, www.GreenburghNY.com, for your consideration more than 72 hours in advance of the meeting. The meeting will be held at the intersection of Melissa Drive and Secor Road. (Secor Road extends from West Hartsdale Avenue to Route 9A. Melissa Drive is approximately 900 feet east of Route 9A.)

Why the unusual venue? The Town Board was recently asked to approve a street closing so a neighborhood group may hold its annual Labor Day party. Since the party will be held before our next regularly scheduled meeting, we are holding the Special Meeting immediately prior to one of our door-to-door community outreach efforts, which happens to be on Melissa Drive this Monday. A second resolution for a street closing so the Cotswold Association may plan for and hold its annual picnic will also be acted upon at the meeting.

Both resolutions on the agenda involve routine street closings requested by neighborhood groups. No other resolutions will be added to the agenda. The authorization votes for these non-controversial resolutions should take no more than five minutes, and then the Town Board will begin soliciting opinions about town issues from residents in the area.

Both resolutions may be accessed by clicking in the box titled “Upcoming Town Board Resolutions” located on the right side of the Town’s homepage, by clicking “Documents & Forms” on the left side of the homepage, or by simply clicking here, which will take you directly to the “Documents & Forms” page.

The posting of resolutions on the Town’s Web site for easy access and going door-to-door to solicit public comment are part of the Town Board’s continuing open government initiatives.

As always, should you have any questions or comments, you may email the entire Town Board (Supervisor Paul Feiner, Councilwoman Sonja Brown, Councilwoman Diana Juettner, Councilman Kevin Morgan, and me) by emailing TownBoard@GreenburghNY.com, or by replying to this email and I will forward your response.

Also, if you would like the Town Board to visit your home or area, please let us know that as well. These house calls, to individuals or to a home where neighbors have gathered, have been very informative. We like doing them!
