Cable TV viewers in the Town of Greenburghnow have a new source of information about how to save energy and money. “The Energy Show,” the Town of Greenburgh’snew cable access program on energy conservation, will be broadcast Friday evenings in May at 7 p.m.on Channel 75, which can be seen by viewers in unincorporated Greenburgh. (The show will also run on Greenburgh government Channel 76, viewable anywhere in the Town of Greenburgh, at times to be determined after this week’s meeting of the Cable Advisory Board.) The series, produced and hosted by Greenburgh Energy Conservation Coordinator Nicola Coddington, focuses on tips to help make it easier for viewers to save energy, whether they’re interested in saving money, the environment, or both. The May segment features information on Energy Star appliances, especially room air conditioners and clothes washers, for which there are current, time-limited buyer incentives (a $35 “bounty” on air conditioners and a $100 rebate on qualifying clothes washers). This month’s guest is Sue Sowek of NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority), an expert on Energy Star appliances and lighting. Future segments will cover topics such as a home energy audit and energy-efficient lighting.
