Received some calls from residents of Edgemont who are being impacted by the road work at the Bronx River Parkway. Please be advised that I complained to project coordinator Paul Sommerfield 995 2566 of the county and put in a call to the County Executive as well. The entire project will be complete by the middle of next week. I asked the county if they could stop work earlier in the evening so people could get a nights sleep. Mr. Sommerfield said he is going to look into this and speak to contractors. In addition, he said that those impacted should only be impacted for a night--not for a long period of time. The county can supercede all local ordinances. Last night there was excessive noise in the middle of the night, making it difficult for some to sleep. Also, feel the county should of advised local residents of the work in advance so those who are light sleepers could of made alternate plans.
