REMINDER: taxes are due friday at midnight---free food donated by local restaurants at new residents

Reminder: the county/town/fire district taxes are due Friday at midnight. According to David Dwinell, Receiver of Taxes, the Town Hall will remain open until 7 PM on Friday. You can pay on line (no service fee) till midnight on Friday---www.greenburghny.com (check for on line payments). . You can pay by credit card for a nominal fee (www.officialpayments.com). Jurisdiction code is 4215. You will need your account number and bill number if you pay by credit card.  If you pay on line or by credit card make sure you get the confirmation number and keep in your records.
If you miss payment there is a 2% penalty for the month of May.
 
PS: If you hate paying taxes (as we all do—and you want something free—you can stop by at our new residents reception and volunteer reception tonight at the Greenburgh Library between the hours of 6 PM to 7:30 PM. About 15 local restaurants are setting up tables with free DELICIOUS food. Chat with new residents, volunteers, elected officials and department heads. A special thank you to Town Clerk Judith Beville for organizing the event.
