YOU CAN PAY YOUR TAXES VIA THE INTERNET!
Release Date: February 03, 2004

Greenburghhas become the 2nd community in Westchesterto accept tax payments over the internet (Lewisboro approved a similar policy last year). The Town Board approved a recommendation made by David Dwinell, Receiver of Taxes, to utilize the services of CIT-E-NET, LLC using ACH or Automatic Clearing House which is similar to electronic checks but without paper. The money will be transferred directly from the taxpayer’s saving or checking account to the tax office bank via the internet by means of our municipal website (GreenburghNY.COM). There will be NO additional charge, fee or surcharge to the individual taxpayer, nor does CIT-E-NET act as a middleman collecting part of the transaction as is the case in many other online payment models structured for local government. The town will pay an annual $1,250 fee and a one time service set up charge of about $3,125. However, we expect to save lots of staff time (open mail, processing checks, etc).  Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner congratulated David Dwinell for his leadership – helping to make Greenburgh more customer friendly. I know that many Greenburgh residents will appreciate this new convenience.
