As a result of the severity of the winter and complaints that I’ve received from residents about snow removal on sidewalks I have directed the Police Department to vigorously enforce all ordinances related to the removal of snow on public sidewalks. Homeowners who reside adjacent to sidewalks are responsible to keep the sidewalks clear of snow and ice. If homeowners do not clear the sidewalks of snow and ice they may be subject to fines imposed by the court as well as additional costs if the town is required to perform the work. The court has the discretion to determine any penalties. This will be discussed at tomorrow nights Town Board meeting at Edgemont High School at 7:15 PM.
