SUPERVISOR RELEASES 2004 CAPITAL BUDGET

GreenburghTown Supervisor Paul Feiner released his proposed capital budget for 2004 in the amount of $2,415,000. This compares to a $2,335,000 budget released in 2003; $2,748,000 in 2002 and $2,647,000 in 2001.

Among the highlights of the budget are:

**Recommending that a parking/space study be performed by an independent consultant at the Town Courtfacilities as a first step that could lead to an expanded courthouse…

**Funding for a handicapped accessible walkway to the new interactive kiddy pool and main pools at VeteranTownPark

**Funding for a new mobile communications/command vehicle for the Police Department that will enhance the police department’s ability to communicate with other emergency responders…

**Funding for the purchase and installation of light switches with sensors at the new Town Hall so lights automatically shut off.

**An emergency generator will be purchased for the MultipurposeCenterat AnthonyVeteranParkto provide emergency shelter for the disabled/elderly in the event of a blackout/emergency.

**Speed humps to be purchased and installed on various streets within the town.
