AFFORDABLE HOUSE FOREVER AT TAXTER RIDGE...
Release Date: March 11, 2004

Greenburgh’snewest park (Taxter Ridge) will also feature an affordable House Forever…. Habitat for Humanity is working with the town to renovate an abandoned home at the park and will turn it into an affordable rental for a town employee. This is the second Habitat for Humanity home in Greenburgh – the first Habitat house was built about 4 years ago on Riverdale Ave. Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said that this is a win-win for everyone. We were able to preserve 200 acres of open space. And, an abandoned home will be restored – providing a town employee with affordable living.

ON ANOTHER MATTER……..The Town of Greenburgh Department of Public Works received the Civic Partnership Award from Westchester ARC for providing employment opportunities to Westchester ARC consumers. ARC consumers work at Town Hall, cleaning the building after hours. They do a magnificent job.  Al Regula, Commissioner of Public Works, received special recognition at the ARC breakfast. Congratulations.  We’re also providing ARC with a PERMANENT ART GALLERY AT TOWN HALL to feature the work of ARC residents. Those who have special disabilities have impressive artistic skills and we want to highlight that fact. The gallery is open to the public during Town Hall business hours.
