Town Bd to set hearing on sub division legislation
Release Date: May 05, 2004

Some residents who live in Edgemont and other neighborhoods in town have expressed concern that developers may receive a building permit for one single family home on a piece of property that could then be the subject of a request for subdivision or re-subdivision. This actually segments the SEQR process that should be done on the entire piece of property and may result in a subdivision layout that is less than optimal for the environment, the neighborhood and future homeowners. The Town Board will be setting a hearing at our May 12th Town Board meeting on a code revision that states:

When a building permit is requested for a single family home on a property that has at least twice the minimum lot area of the underlying zone, no subdivision application shall be accepted by the Planning Board for that property or any portion of said property for 5 years after the date of issuance of the building permit.”

The hearing will be held on June 23rd –a meeting at YosemiteParkbeginning at 7:15 PM.YosemitePark is located in back of the TheodoreYoungCommunity Center(off of Manhattan Ave, Tarrytown Road).

We hope we’re being responsive to community concerns.
