RIDGE HILL FORUM ON MAY 27
Release Date: May 18, 2004

Forum on Effects of Ridge Hill Development Set for May 27

A Forum exploring local effects of the proposed Ridge Hill development
in northern Yonkers will be held on May 27 at South Presbyterian Church in
Dobbs Ferry.  The forum will begin at 8:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the
Rivertowns League of Women Voters.

Featured speakers will include Mark Stellato, AICP, Planning
Commissioner for the Town of Greenburgh and representatives of both Michael Maris
Associates, the Town's traffic consultants and Forest City Ratner (the
proposed developer of Ridge Hill).  Other speakers will address the effects
of the development on the "Main Streets" of the surrounding villages and
on air quality.

The Ridge Hill project is proposed for 81 acres north of Tuckahoe Road
between the Sprain Parkway and the Thruway.  The 2.9 million sq ft
complex would include 800 units of housing, a 350-room hotel, 150,000 sq ft of
office space, 5,000 parking spaces, and 1.3 million sq ft of retail
space. This is seven times the size of the current Stew Leonard / Costco / Home
Depot Development just northwest of the Ridge Hill site.

Residents interested in the League's position on Land Use can call
Lindsay Feinberg, president, at 478-0566.
