Greenburgh town Supervisor Paul Feiner announced that Rotary District 7230 has provided the town with a rendering of the back of the 9/11 mural wall which will depict the history of Rotary. Last year the Rotary District contributed 100% of the costs of the 9/11 wall - located at Webb Field in Hartsdale. The wall cost $43,000 to build and includes about 2000 tiles painted by residents of Westchester highlighting their impressions of the 9/11 tragedy. The Rotary District was provided with the back of the wall in return. This is the largest 9/11 memorial in the world at the present time --- it’s 100 feet long and 8 feet high located at busy Central Ave. The Rotary District side of the wall faces the park rather than the street and will be an artistic marvel. Jennifer Dragon, a Rotary Ambassador Scholar, was sent to Italy to further her art studies. She has so kindly contributed her time and artistic effort constructing the wall together with the help of artists who will help her paint. A ceremony will take place at the wall on Friday, June 25th at noon at Webb Field to celebrate this accomplishment. Feiner said that the town will also work to enhance the landscaping around the wall to highlight it’s significance. This is a wall that people will appreciate for years to come. Lou Del Rosario, Special Assistant to the District Governor David Sullivan, said that the Rotary district is very proud to be able to be part of this memorial to show their involvement in the communities of Westchester.
