Release Date: June 21, 2004

F.A.S.S.T. Speed and Strength Training for Teens!

The Town of Greenburgh Department of Parks and Recreation will host a program this summer called F.A.S.S.T.™ also know as Functional Agility Speed & Strength Training. This is a Sports Performance Program designed to create a well-rounded athlete. With the use of numerous dynamic training principles each athlete will develop the skills and abilities specific to sport performance. These unique training approaches are more effective at developing the necessary agility, speed, and strength needed to excel in sports.

The F.A.S.S.T.™ Program works on the athlete's ability to perform functional movements relative to sport performance. This develops a more efficient, more durable, and more explosive athlete.

In the sports medicine community it has been documented that athletes participating in strength and conditioning programs not only increased their sport performance but also decreased their risk of serious sport related injury. No matter what the sport, explosive lateral, linear and vertical movement skills are vital. F.A.S.S.T. will create a more explosive athlete.

Only 30 individual youth entering grades 7 through 12 will be allowed to enter this program which will be held for 4 days (M, T, Th, F) from June 28 through July 2 beginning at 6:00pm to 7:30pm each evening at a Webb Park Located on Central Avenue in Hartsdale, NY.

The cost of this program is $30 for Town of Greenburgh Residents and $40 for all other non- residents that enroll. The value of working with specialized fitness trainers for a program such as this normally ranges from $140 to $300 per week, per person.
