Release Date: September 18, 2012

Received this update on tonights storm from the Commissioner of Public Works. Stay safe!
PAUL FEINER

Please be advised the Highway Department has workers out clearing downed trees and monitoring known flooding areas. We have already cleared 10 trees or limbs from Town streets and are continuing to address needs as we are notified of a problem. We have patrolled Babbitt Court, Hayes Street and Payne Street. Only very minor flooding is reported at Lamont and Hayes intersection. We are monitoring Old Kensico Road and see no major flood concerns at this time.

Currently, Hillside Avenue is closed in the vicinity of Mt. Calvary Cemetery with wires down and a reported fire.

Power outages are scattered throughout Town, but I am not aware of any major outages. I do not know the extent of the power problems as they relate to the issues on Hillside Avenue.

Our Highway work crews will continue to clear trees and limbs as they are reported.

In the event of a tree down, flooding condition or otherwise dangerous condition related to the storm, please be sure to call the Town of Greenburgh Police as they immediately notify our Highway work team.

Victor Carosi, P.E.
Commissioner of Public Works
