need house angels..9,025 people/2 crews still assigned to Greenburgh...dry ice...TDYCC open

WANTED: HOUSE ANGELS---I’m starting to get calls from senior citizens who are thinking about leaving their FREEZING HOMES. An 88 and 89 year old just called me. The husband is on a nebulizer – has medical issues. If you have an extra room in your house and are willing to be a house angel, please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com or call me at 438 1343 or 993 1545. I’m getting a call almost every one or two seconds –and very backlogged with getting back to people who call me. I’m able to keep up with e mails.
 
As of a few minutes ago 9,025 people were still out of power. Con Ed still has assigned only 2 crews to Greenburgh. I have complained to every elected official I could think of and to Con Ed. Other officials in Westchester have also expressed our feelings that Westchester should not be last on the restoration list.Most of Con Ed’s resources have been assigned to NYC. We were advised that crews are coming in from around the nation –hopefully the restoration efforts will accelerate very soon. Con Ed’s estimated time to restore power in our area is still Nov 9th. Was at the Greenburgh Library this morning. The library is mobbed with people – enjoying the books, comfort, computers, staff, heat. The library is open this weekend.
 
TELEPHONE CONFERENCE WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA AND GOVERNOR CUOMO—Last night I was invited to participate in a conference call with President Obama, Governor Cuomo and other chief elected officials around the state. The President advised the participants to encourage residents to call 1 800 621 FEMA for assistance. He indicated that the Small Business Administration is available. He also indicated that it’s possible to get reimbursed for child care.
 
Westchester and Rockland counties have been added to the Major Disaster declaration. Both counties have been designated for Individual Assistance and Public Assistance Category A and B, as well as DFA Direct Federal Assistance. PAUL FEINER
