DRY ICE...REPORT FROM CONFERENCE CALL WITH CON ED/MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS...PBA EFFORT
Release Date: November 06, 2012

Dry ice is being distributed at the Westchester County Center this afternoon.

OTHER MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS ARE COMPLAINING TOO….
Participated in another conference call with Con Ed officials and municipal officials this afternoon. The other officials around the county have the same complaints that I have been airing….lack of crews helping to restore the power. Con Ed crews are blaming local governments for not clearing trees. The Con Ed officials indicated to all the municipal officials that “the town is not holding up the restoration efforts.” Some communities complain that Con Ed hasn’t assigned any crews to their locality. Con Ed has assigned more crews to the town during the past two days, but we still have around 5,000 outages. Officials complain that the outage map is inaccurate.

A big storm is coming soon –more trees are likely to come down. Con Ed said in the phone conversation that if there are new outages later this week they won’t send trucks back to NYC and will keep crews in Westchester.

50 additional crews coming to Westchester tonight, according to the conference call.
