Their response is contingent on future state funding. Their ability to stay in Westchester and in NY is also contingent on state funding. The entire Town Board and I are reaching out to state officials seeking a commitment to provide the funding that Ferncliff needs to move the application forward. If the state provides the town with the commitments we need we will authorize the Town Attorney to proceed with the preparation of the lease.
At the Town Board meeting on December 12, 2012 Westchester County Legislator Gordon Burrows reported that he believes that there are at least 12 votes on the County Legislature out of seventeen members ready to vote to authorize the town to enter the lease with Ferncliff.
