Local Fundraiser Celebrates Delicious Dishes While Connecting Businesses To the Community
Tickets are on sale now for the third annual Greenburgh Taste Off, a local fundraising event hosted by the Woodlands Falcons Nest Booster Club and Woodlands Middle and High School Parent Teacher Associations. The event takes place Saturday, April 27, 2013 between noon and 3PM at the Woodlands High School Gymnasiums at 475 W. Hartsdale Avenue in Hartsdale. Major corporate sponsors supporting the event include: TD Bank and Party Line Tent Rentals.
The Greenburgh Taste Off is an annual fundraising event, which brings local restaurants and caterers together to boast their favorite dishes. Residents participate by tasting the dishes and voting on their favorite dish in specific food categories. “The Greenburgh Taste Off is not only a great fundraising event, it brings the community together and gives local businesses a chance to engage with attendees, while raising monies for a good cause,” said David Jackson, president, Woodlands Falcons Nest Booster Club.
The Greenburgh Taste Off also provides residents with the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and a penny social which this year includes tickets to: the U.S Open, Mets and Yankee games, as well as the Broadway play, “The Trip to Bountiful”. The event also pays tribute to Greenburgh Central 7 staff members for their service and commitment to the district. This year’s honorees include: Tina Goldman, Helen Harmon, Margo Parker and Claire Troy.
To date, more than twenty businesses have signed on as on site participants. They include: Aflac, Avon, Caffé Azzurri, California Pizza Kitchen, Candlelight Inn, Cerbone of Naples Pizza Restaurant, Doctors Express, Frank’s Food Court, Hurricane Grill & Wings, Jake’s Wayback Burgers, Leisure Fitness, Nana Cakes, Inc., Party Line Tent Rentals, People’s United Bank, Roasted Peppers Restaurant & Catering, Rodan & Fields Skincare, Rudy’s Food, Sports & Entertainment, Sunshine Bagels, Sun Splash Caribbean Bakery & Restaurant, TD Bank, Trader Joe’s, and Wells Fargo. More are expected to sign on.
Proceeds will go towards student-athlete scholarships, the Woodlands Middle & High School PTSA’s, the Falcons Nest Booster Club, as well as the Food Bank for Westchester. Advance ticket purchases online are $10.00 for students and $15.00 for adults. Paper tickets are $10.00 for students and $20 for adults. At the door, tickets will be $13 and $25, respectively.
