DANNON's NATIONAL HDQRT ACROSS FROM TOWN HALL

On Thursday I participated in the dedication ceremonies of the new national headquarters of DANNON. The new corporate headquarters is located across the street from our Greenburgh Town Hall on Hillside Ave. Dannon adds some additional prestige to our community. In addition, I'm delighted that the building they occupy is finally being put to good use. The Greenburgh Town Board approved the construction of the building in the late 1980s...for many years the property was an eyesore -- an unfinished building that was not maintained. Residents called the building "the beast". The Town Board considered purchasing the structure for a Town Hall/library at one point. The new building is very attractive. And, when we get an urge for some yogurt we can cross the street!
I am also grateful to Dannon for being a company that works to better the world. For over a dozen years I participated in the DANNON TOUR DE WAGNER- a 200 mile+ weekend bike ride from NY to Vermont that has raised hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Special Olympics and Westchester ARC.
