The Governors office announced today that the Greenburgh police department received a $22,500 grant from NYS for a license plate reader package. The agency will use the technology in its efforts to target burglaries. Special thanks to Chief Chris McNerney and Sgt. Nick Reckson for seeking the grant. Greenburgh was the only community in Westchester to receive this grant, according to the Governor's office. This resource will help the police protect residents and our property. 31 law enforcement agencies in NYS received the grant funds. The Town Board will be appointing Chet Watson to fill a vacancy on the Greenburgh Planning Board (Alternate position) at our next Town Board meeting -a week from Wednesday. Chet lives off of Dobbs Ferry Road, a neighborhood that currently has no representation on the Planning Board. Chet has very impressive credentials. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Rochester Institute of Technology and of Manning & Napier Fund, Inc. He has worked as an internal auditor and locally has been involved in the Dad's Club and Kiwanis Club. He has spoken at Greenburgh Town Board meetings on issues that concern him. He's smart, a good listener and will help the town make the right planning choices for our town. We thank him for his service. PAUL FEINER
