A GREAT ACTIVITY--BICYCLE SUNDAY BEGINS THIS SUNDAY MAY 4th--40th year!
Release Date: May 04, 2014

I got my start in local government in 1973 when  I was chairman of the Task Force for Bikeways in Westchester. We lobbied successfully for the first bikeway to be built in Westchester along the Bronx River Parkway. The following year Westchester County Executive Al Del Bello appointed me to his Bicycle Task Force which recommended that the Bronx River Parkway be closed to cyclists on Sunday.

This Sunday, May 4th begins the 40th year of Bicycle Sunday's. It's a great recreation activity for your family to enjoy. I hope to see you on the parkway Sunday!

The Friends of Westchester County Parks and Con Edison are hosting the return of Bicycle Sundays on Sunday, May 4.  During Bicycle Sundays a 6.5 mile stretch of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to traffic from 10 AM to 2 PM enabling cyclists to bicycle through White Plains, Hartsdale/Greenburgh, Scarsdale, Eastchester, Tuckahoe and Yonkers.
