The review process has not yet begun. This was a preliminary meeting. The review process will take at least a year. Probably longer. There will be many public hearings/discussions before any approvals are considered. I suggested that they meet with civic association leaders and the school/fire districts. I also suggested that they consider creating a pocket park/trail that could be enjoyed by their residents and the community.
Other possible benefits: Edgemont & local residents who require assisted living will have more options to age in their local neighborhood. And--members of the community who would like to live close to their elderly parents who need assisted living services will benefit from a neighborhood complex.

HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION DISCUSSION—We heard from Yonkers City Councilman Michael Sabatino and discussed creating a Human Rights initiative at the town level. Rather than duplicate what the county is already doing- a consensus was reached that we should form a Human Rights Commission Liaison Task Force made up of Greenburgh residents who would volunteer and work with the county on education, outreach and referrals. I will be contacting the County Human Rights Commission and will coordinate this initiative with them.
