SCHOOL ELECTIONS AND BUDGET VOTE TUESDAY, MAY 20TH
Release Date: May 19, 2014

New York State law provides voters with the opportunity to cast their ballot for or against proposed school budgets.

In NY voters don't have the ability to vote for or against proposed town, county or state budgets.  Only school budgets are approved by the electorate.

Tuesday's school budget vote is real important: You get to vote for School Board members and you can vote on the proposed school budget - which impacts your taxes. Over 50% of your entire tax bill (in most of Greenburh it's closer to 60%) goes to the school district.  Tuesday, May 20th is the School  Board election day and the date voters can vote on the school budget.
When people purchase homes a factor in the selling price is the quality of the school district. Great school attract families with school age children. And, impact property values. Exercise your right to vote on Tuesday, May 20th.
