New York State to repave W Hartsdale Ave!
Release Date: August 20, 2014

Earlier this summer members of the Town Board met with the regional representative of the New York State Department of Transportation  and with State Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins and Assemblyman Tom Abinanti to discuss road conditions. Among the major complaints: the condition of West Hartsdale Ave.

I am very pleased to report that West Hartsdale Ave will be milled and repaved within the next two week!  The road is in terrible condition.  The state will not, at this time, construct sidewalks on W Hartsdale Ave or widen shoulders—another initiative that I think should be pursued.  Hopefully, when the economy improves and the state has more funds they will revisit the proposal to make W Hartsdale Ave more bicycle/pedestrian friendly.

NYS is also going to be doing some road repaving on 9A under and around the 100C bridge and near the Saw Mill River Parkway, exit 25 and will be doing work on Route 100 from Virginia Road to the West Community College east driveway.

I have also urged the New york State Legislature to place on the 2015 ballot an infrastructure bond act to help cover the cost of road repaving/infrastructure projects.  Roads throughout the state are in bad shape –more funds need to be spent on infrastructure.
