The sanitation department will start picking up garbage with our new truck that has an automatic hand on Monday. We delivered the new garbage cans to residents of Poet's Corner, Valimar and Winding Ridge (and some streets near Winding Ridge)- those who will be serviced by the new "one arm bandit truck". The new truck uses one employee, not three--makes more calls per truck than the traditional trucks we have been using. And reduces injuries since an automated hand doesn't get back problems! We ordered a 2nd truck and will gradually be enlarging the sections of town served by this new truck. A copy of a letter sent to residents from the Commissioner is linked below.
