Should Greenburgh construct a Veterans memorial on E Hartsdale Ave
Release Date: November 12, 2014

There was a terrific turnout of veterans, firefighters from Greenville, Hartsdale & Fairview, police, Boy & Girl Scout troops and elected officials at our Veterans day ceremony this afternoon on E Hartsdale Ave.   Our best turnout ever! It was nice seeing so many veterans (many from World War II and Korean conflict, some from Vietnam).  A suggestion  We should enhance the small  park (DeSanti) across from the Hartsdale train station by constructing a new veterans monument --honoring those who fought for our country and freedoms.

I googled some images of veterans memorials that exist in other communities. Our park is smaller than some of the memorial parks around the country. I think that it would make sense to have the memorial  on E Hartsdale Ave--the location of our Veterans Day and Memorial day parades. Do you agree?  The memorial could be a nice enhancement to E Hartsdale Ave.

If the town proceeds with plans to construct a memorial at the park - any suggestions as to the next steps?

Would you be interested in getting involved in a task force that will help turn this goal into a reality?
