The Greenburgh police department is investigating the circumstances whereby a 16 year old female identified as Christine (Ji Woo) Kang ran away from her residence on Robin Hill Road, in the Scarsdale section of Greenburgh, on Friday, January 3, 2015, at approximately 8:30 P.M. Ms. Wang is an 11th grade student at Edgemont High School. She did not show up for school this morning.
The investigation has thus far disclosed that Ms. Kang left her residence after a brief argument with her parents. She has left home in the past under similar circumstances, but has always returned home within a short time.
A residence search, police K9 search, and neighborhood search were all conducted over the weekend with negative results. This agency is currently expanding the search in the surrounding area to include an aerial search with the assistance of the Westchester County Police Aviation Unit in an effort to locate Ms. Kang.
Ms. Kang was last seen wearing a green pajama top and light colored pajama bottoms and Uggs boots. She is described as 5’6” tall, weighing 120 lbs.
The Greenburgh Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Ji Woo Kang and are urged to call police at (914) 989-1700.
