On Tuesday evening Irvington Mayor Brian Smith, Greenburgh Town Assessor Edye McCarthy and I spoke to over 125 Irvington residents discussing the reassessment that is currently taking place. Irvington Mayor Drew Fixell also attended and shared his thoughts on a possible mitigation initiative. Town Assessor Edye McCarthy spent about three hours explaining the process and answering many specific questions. She also provided residents with pointers re: important information that should highlighted if you disagree with Tyler's tentative assessment and believe that corrections need to be made. Our goal: The assessment should be fair. The town has to comply with NYS law --which is very complicated. This video contains very useful information. If you have further questions, please feel free to e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. On Wednesday evening, April 13th there will be additional discussions on the reassessment process at the Greenburgh Town Board meeting.
