Westchester Square Shopping Center removed from tomorrows Town Board agenda
Release Date: April 12, 2016

Please note that Westchester Square Shopping Center  hearing has been removed from the Town Board meeting agenda tomorrow evening.

The New York State Department of Transportation has advised me that they are planning to install pedestrian countdown timers on existing pedestrian signal poles at 74 locations in Westchester, Dutchess, Columbia, Orange, Putnam and Rockland Counties.

New pedestrian countdown timers will be installed at the following Greenburgh locations between now and the end of the year:

NY 119 @ Old Kensico Road and Aqueduct Road....NY 100A at Concord Ave and Dalewood Drive...NY 119 @ White Plains Shopping Plaza...NY 100@ Westchester Square Shopping Center and Chatterton Place...  NY 100 @ I-287 WB Ramps.

I am very pleased. These pedestrian countdown timers help pedestrians cross the street safely by advising pedestrians how much time they have to cross the street. Anything that could be done to improve pedestrian safety is welcome!  More needs to be done.
