Honorable Paul J. Feiner Supervisor
Town of Greenburgh 177 Hillside Avenue
Greenburgh, NY 10607 Dear Mr. Feiner:
Thank you for your correspondence regarding the installation of a red turn arrow and/or additional signing to enforce the no right turn on red restriction for the eastbound Route 1008 (Dobbs Ferry Road) approach to Hartsdale Road in the Town of Greenburgh, Westchester  County.

In response to your request, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) conducted a review of the subject location to determine whether the traffic signal can support additional signing.

As a result of our analysis, the Department will install a "No Turn on Red" sign on the mast arm for the Route 1008 eastbound approach to Hartsdale Road. This sign will be hung by our signal maintenance forces. This action should help to address instances of motorists violating the right turn on red prohibition, by placing the turn restriction message near the red signal indication.
Thank you for bringing the concerns of your constituency to our attention.
Very truly yours,

Todd 8. Westhuis, P.E. Regional Director
