Easter Monday is no longer a Public Works holiday
Release Date: April 14, 2017

For many decades Easter Monday (the Monday after Easter)  was a Department of Public Works holiday. There was always a great deal of confusion among residents because we treated the week as a holiday week --picking up garbage only once during the week. It was also confusing because some town employees (CSEA) were working while teamsters were not.

GOOD NEWS!  The Teamsters agreed as part of the last union negotiating process to remove Easter Monday as a holiday.  First time this will be done in decades.  Next weeks sanitation schedule is a typical week.

For those celebrating Good Friday and Easter --have a great holiday!
