Another motorcycle fatality yesterday highlights importance of todays motorcycle safety event 12-4
Release Date: April 30, 2017

Sad news. A motorcyclist who lived in Mount Vernon lost his life in a motorcycle accident in the Bronx yesterday. Last year a young Greenburgh motorcyclist also lost his life- across from Greenburgh Town Hall. And there have been other fatal accidents around the county since the horrible tragedy. Nationally, between 4 and 5,000 motorcyclists lose their lives each year.

We formed a motorcycle safety committee. Today - between 12-4 PM at the Dannon parking lot - (across from Greenburgh Town Hall on Hillside Ave) there is a motorcycle safety event. The remnants of the motorcycle involved in the Greenburgh tragedy will also be displayed.

Our committee has been placing lawn signs around town encouraging motorists and motorcyclists to be safe. If this event saves even one life it will be worth the effort.  Hope to see you at the event today.

The following you tube video is from a press conference we had on Wednesday - and also shows motorcyclists escorting the remnants of the motorcycle involved in the fatal accident to Greenburgh Town Hall. The motorcycle safety committee later made a presentation to the Greenburgh Town Board.
