20-30 fender benders, cars stuck, roads are slippery- stay off road, if possible
Release Date: February 17, 2018

Just got off the phone with the Greenburgh Police. The snow is coming down very hard. The roads are very slippery. We have received between 20-30 fender bender accident complaints. Cars getting stuck on the road. Our crews are out trying hard to make roads safe to drive on. But, when snow is coming down very fast - road conditions deteriorate rapidly.

We already have about 6 inches of snow. the totals for this storm are anticipated to go up to 9 inches. The heavy snow is expected to end around 11 PM.

One resident reported that a fire truck got stuck in front of a house and finally got free. But, then bent a street sign (which the town will repair next week).  Another resident complained about the Sprain Parkway (which is not under our control). As of 8:30 PM the parkway was not plowed northbound.

By tomorrow the snow storm will be over, the roads will be in plowed and in good shape. And by mid week it is expected to be 70 degrees here in Greenburgh.
