FRIENDLY REMINDER- TOWN, COUNTY AND FIRE DISTRICT TAXES DUE TOMORROW

 

  The town acts as a tax collector for county, school and fire districts -even though the town has no control over their budgets. The town, county and fire district taxes are due tomorrow night at midnight (April 30).

 

   Town Hall will be open tomorrow (Monday) till 7 PM.  You can pay your tax obligations on line. Link below:

   I have spoken with the Receiver of Taxes about a problem we have been experiencing with Discover card payments for the April tax collection. Received a few complaints. Those using Discover have seen significant additional service fees. The Receiver of Taxes is working to make changes in time for the September tax collection so residents who use Discover cards will get the same  financial benefits they had previously.

Harmon Community Center, 44 Main St., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY     Join  the Hastings Conservation Commission for a forum about the on-going dangers of Indian Point that persist although the reactors are scheduled to close in 2020 and 2021.
 
Moderated by Peter Wolf, CEO, Center for Sustainable Development.   Panelists include Karl Rabago, Executive Director, Pace Energy and Climate Center, who will address the question of replacement energy; Manna Jo Greene, Environmental Director, Hudson River Sloop Clearwater; and Richard Webster, Legal Director, Riverkeeper.  A discussion with questions and answers, next steps and effective action will follow the panel.
 

GOOD LUCK TO TWO SPIRITUAL LEADERS WHO HAVE LED AREA SYNAGOGUES ATTENDED BY MANY GREENBURGH RESIDENTS!  Rabbi Gordon Tucker retiring, Rabbi David Holtz honored for 25 years of service

 

 

Many Greenburgh residents belong to Temple Israel Center in White Plains. Rabbi Gordon Tucker, the senior Rabbi at Temple Israel since 2003 is retiring.  The Rabbi has served the Temple since 1994.  Temple Israel Center honored Rabbi Tucker for his outstanding service this weekend. 

 Last night Temple Beth Abraham  in Tarrytown honored their Rabbi, David Holtz for his 25 years of service. Rabbi Holtz is continuing to serve our communities.

Thank you to both spiritual leaders for their hard work and for inspiring others to provide acts of kindness to others.  Both Rabbi's have been outstanding leaders in our community.
