CAPTAIN LAWRENCE BREWING COMPANY EXPANDING! --SEEKS PERMISSION TO ADD DISTILLERY --vote on May 23rd
Release Date: May 14, 2018

Captain Lawrence Brewing Company is a successful craft beer brewer in the Town of Greenburgh and has been doing business in the Elmsford portion of  unincorporated Greenburgh on Saw Mill River Road for close to six years now. Previously the company was based in Pleasantville, NY for approximately six years. Earlier this year, owner Scott Vaccaro approached the Town with a desire to diversify their operations and add a micro-distillery component on-site. The PD District, where Captain Lawrence is located, presently prohibits distilleries. Over the last several months, the Planning Board and Town Board have reviewed local legislation which would permit this use in the PD District in the Town. This last Wednesday, the Town Board closed the public hearing related to the micro-distillery local law for the PD District and the Board is scheduled to vote on the local law at the next Town Board meeting on May 23rd . If approved, Captain Lawrence plans to open a micro-distillery with a small tasting room. New York State recently announced that it is home to 400 Breweries, eclipsing a record set in 1876 https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-announces-record-number-breweries-new-york-state Wishing continued success for this local business as soon celebrates 12 years in business.  The company has been a great corporate neighbor and has been a great asset to our community.
