HATS OFF TO ARDSLEY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM FOR WINNING SECTION CHAMPIONSHIPS
Release Date: May 31, 2018

Hats off to the Ardsley High School softball team for winning the section championship  by beating the number ranked team in NYS Tappan Zee high school. Tappan Zee is the same school that lost to Ardsley for the second one championship in boys basketball.

Greenburgh Commissioner of Parks Gerry Byrne is especially proud because his sister Noreen is the head girls softball coach for Ardsley High School. The school district and town are overseen by different boards. Norren played for Ardsley years ago.

This win received some nice attention.  Listen to the WCBS story that aired throughout the NYC metropolitan area:  Five players on this years team are either daughters and nieces of six payers from the squad that won the NY State sectional one title in 1988.  I would like to honor the champions at an upcoming Greenburgh Town Board meeting.
