Town pool has WIFI new bathrooms, a new outdoor shower--lifeguards practicing CPR
Release Date: June 03, 2018

Greenburgh has many jewels. One of our nicest local destination points: our pool at AF Veteran park. In the 1970s the New York State Legislature and Governor approved legislation limiting membership to residents of unincorporated Greenburgh.

Yesterday I spent some time visiting the AF Veteran pool, off of Heatherdell Road. Was very pleased. My visit was unannounced. The lifeguards were practicing CPR and life saving techniques (see photo). Residents were enjoying our new WIFI at the pool grounds. The outdoor shower (see photo) has been renovated. The women's bathrooms were also renovated recently. Children were enjoying the interactive spray areas at the kiddy pool and other swimmers were doing laps in our lap pool. Last year we built a pavilion near the cabanas for parties games  and ping pong. And the camp team is planning to organize some float nights.

At the entrance to the pool grounds we have our food scrap recycling drop off location. The food scrap recycling initiative, managed by the Greenburgh Nature Center, is off to a great start with lots of residents participating.
